In this hands-on cake class, Courtney will cover all the tips and tricks you need to make the most delicious tasting and beautiful looking cakes - from how to get your cakes to rise evenly, to mastering texture, to making the best buttercream, to decorating like a pro, she'll cover everything you need to know to get started on your cake journey!

Beginning Cookie Decorating Techniques

Bake with Jenny Keller of Jenny Cookies!  This 2 hour class will be filled with baking tips, tricks and techniques to create her signature buttercream sugar cookies. You’ll learn to make, color and pipe buttercream icing onto cookies using a variety of decorating tips. Throughout the workshop, Jenny will answer baking, party planning and entertaining related questions.

Julia M. Usher

Take your cookie decorating to new heights! In this session, Julia will show you how to design and decorate a mixed media springtime-themed cookie using a wide range of techniques: contoured royal icing transfers, piped royal icing flowers, embossed and/or molded cookies, precision airbrushing, and more.

Let's Make Pie

Helen Nugent

In this workshop, Helen covers the techniques for creating a beautiful pie design using embossed pastry, latticing, and highly decorative flowers. Participants will learn how to:

  • Make a no-fail all-butter pastry using a food processor
  • Easily lattice a pie in a way that ensures the weave stays in place without ripping or tearing
  • Emboss pastry
  • Braid without ripping or tearing
  • Create beautiful flowers using a few inexpensive tools

This session is suitable for all skill levels.

In this hands-on class, Liz will teach you:

  • the basics of making a sculpted volcano cake with dry ice and light effects
  • what cake recipes work best for sculpted cakes

  • how to make a simple support structure (no special tools required)
  • how to stack and carve the volcano cake
  • how to add final details like greenery, dinosaurs and lava
  • how to make realistic smoke and light effects

The Art of French Macarons

Melissa Huang

In this introductory session, Melissa teaches all of the steps required to make French macarons:

  • preparing French meringue
  • mixing (i.e., "macaronage") and colouring the batter
  • piping macarons shells (circle and simple animal design)
  • making ganache filling
  • assembling macarons
